Right now you can’t go to the cinema, so what if the cinema can come to you? Xiaomi just unveiled the insane Redmi Smart TV MAX with a whopping 98-inch screen. This thing is so big that its official product page includes dimensions for doors and stairs, so you can check if you can even bring it into your own home.
The LCD panel has a 4K resolution with a 60Hz refresh rate and covers 85% of the NTSC color space. It supports HDR supported by 192-zone local dimming (with direct LED backlighting). The ninth generation image engine contains a total of 20 image enhancement technologies, among which is motion interpolation.
For sound, there are four large cavity speakers as well as Dolby and DTS decoding. There are three HDMI ports (one with ARC) and an S/PDIF output, so you can easily connect external audio devices.
Redmi Smart TV MAX is powered by Amlogic T972 chipset (4x Cortex-A55, Mali-G31MP2), which is paired with up to 4GB of RAM and 64GB storage (eMMC). The TV runs Xiaomi’s custom PatchWall software based on Android TV. It can also act as a hub for all the different gadgets that are part of the Xiaomi ecosystem (voice control is also available).
